As reported by WorkersCompensation.com in the article “MTA Worker Critically Injured after Being Struck by Brooklyn Train,” a Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) employee suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a train while on duty in downtown Brooklyn. The June 6th incident, which occurred near the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets station, is currently under investigation.
According to the New York Police Department, the 64-year-old worker was acting as a flagger—tasked with alerting oncoming trains to track crews—when he was struck by a northbound train just after midnight. Emergency responders rushed the injured worker to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit with severe facial and head trauma.
