Slip and fall—or trip and fall—cases generally arise when a person is injured due to a dangerous condition on a walking surface. These conditions can include water, ice, oil, soap, debris, uneven flooring, or poorly maintained sidewalks. However, to hold a property owner liable, a key legal threshold must be met: negligence.
