As reported by WCAX News in the article “New York DMV takes tightens DUI penalties”, New York State has introduced new regulations aimed at curbing drunk and drug-impaired driving, including a policy dubbed “Forfeit After Four.”
Effective immediately, the new rule allows the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to permanently revoke driving privileges for individuals with four alcohol- or drug-related convictions. Previously, the threshold for such permanent action was five.
