ERIE COUNTY, NY – Authorities responded to a multi-vehicle collision Wednesday morning on Interstate 290 near Amherst, according to WGRZ TrafficTracker2.
The crash happened on the eastbound lanes of I-290 past Exit 6 to Sheridan Drive and Harlem Road, in an area northeast of Buffalo. It was first reported shortly before 8:20 a.m.
Little information has been released at this time, but the scene was blocking the right shoulder of the interstate, and a traffic backup had stretched down to I-990 at the time of the report.

It was not immediately apparent whether anyone was seriously hurt and/or had to be hospitalized.
