BUFFALO, NY – Authorities were dispatched to a crash late Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 190, northwest of downtown Buffalo, according to WGRZ TrafficTracker2.
The collision unfolded on the northbound highway north of Peace Bridge, just south of the Grant Ferry neighborhood. It was first reported shortly before 4:10 p.m.
While the cause and nature of the wreck remains unclear, at the time of WGRZ’s initial report, a 2.5-mile traffic backup had already formed from Elm Street to past Peace Bridge. Motorists traveling on the southbound interstate were also warned of delays from before the State Highway 198 interchange down to the bridge.
