2 Killed, 1 Left Injured Following Head-On Crash On CR-5 in Clarksville

ALLEGANY COUNTY, NY – Two people lost their lives due to a two-vehicle collision last Friday afternoon, September 27, in the Town of Clarksville, according to WKBW.

The accident unfolded on a stretch of County Route 5 at about 2:00 p.m., prompting a response from New York State police.

Officials say a 40-year-old Limestone resident was driving a 2005 GMC westbound on County Route 5. At one point, for reasons still being investigated, the vehicle veered into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming 2019 Dodge.

The driver of the GMC and a 70-year-old Portville woman who was a passenger in the Dodge were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge, also of Portville, suffered serious injuries and had to be airlifted to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC).

State police continues to investigate the circumstances of the wreck.
