Motorcyclist Dies Following Head-On Crash on NY 33 in Town of Stafford

GENESEE COUNTY, NY – A 20-year-old Rochester man lost his life Saturday, September 14, in the Town of Stafford when he collided head-on with a vehicle while operating a motorcycle, according to WIVB 4.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal accident unfolded at 6496 Route 33, prompting a response from officers just after 5:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that the young man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle westbound on NY 33 when he attempted to pass two vehicles ahead of him. Officials said a 76-year-old West Henrietta resident was driving a Ford Edge when they turned left from Griswold Road in order to get on the eastbound highway. While trying to pass the vehicles, the motorcyclist struck the Ford head-on.

The impact sent the Rochester man off his motorcycle and onto the north shoulder of NY-33. First responders pronounced him deceased at the scene.

An investigation into the crash remains in progress.
