Cyclist, 24, Dies Following Hit-And-Run in East Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY – A 24-year-old man from Cheektowaga lost his life as a result of a hit-and-run collision early Saturday, September 7, in east Buffalo, according to WGRZ.

Buffalo Police said the fatal incident occurred at the corner of Fillmore Avenue and Howard Street. Officers responded to the scene at about 2:15 a.m.

Preliminary details show the victim was riding a bike southbound on Fillmore when he was struck from behind by a driver in a dark SUV, believed to be a Jeep Cherokee with dark tinted windows.

The cyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Officials said the vehicle, which sustained damaged to its front-end, fled the scene.
