Woman on e-bike dies following hit-and-run crash at Niagara Falls intersection

NIAGARA COUNTY, NY – A 50-year-old woman died early Monday after being struck by a vehicle while operating an electric bike in Niagara Falls, according to WGRZ.

The fatal incident was reported at the intersection of 22nd Street and Niagara Avenue. Niagara Falls Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after 1:00 a.m.

While the events leading up to the crash remain under investigation, officials said the victim was found seriously injured at the scene. She was rushed to Erie County Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased.

At this time, officials have not disclosed any information indicating a lead on the type of vehicle involved. No pending charges or citations have been reported.
