1 dead, 1 critically hurt following rear-end crash in West Seneca

ERIE COUNTY, NY – A 76-year-old woman died early Sunday as a result of a two-vehicle wreck in West Seneca, according to WIVB 4.

The accident occurred on a stretch of Clinton Street near Borden Road.

According to Seneca Police, a 48-year-old Cheektowaga man was driving a Toyota RAV4 eastbound on Clinton Street toward the intersection when the vehicle hit a minivan driven by a 76-year-old woman.

The force of the crash caused the Toyota to overturn and come to rest in the intersection’s northwest corner, while the minivan came to a stop in the parking lot of a collision ship, where it crashed into a group of other vehicles.

First responders rushed the woman to Erie County Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. The man, who was also transported, was last listed in stable condition.

No further information has been released, but authorities continue to investigate.
