Passenger dies after car hits tree near Riverside High School in north Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY – A 30-year-old woman died last Saturday night, July 20, as a result of a single-vehicle wreck in north Buffalo that left a 28-year-old man with multiple injuries, reports WGRZ.

City of Buffalo police said the fatal crash occurred at the corner of Arthur and Tonawanda streets, in an area east of Riverside High School.

According to officials, the 28-year-old, a Buffalo resident, was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic heading eastbound on Arthur Street. At one point, just after 10:00 p.m., the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.

The 30-year-old woman, also of Buffalo and who was a passenger in the car, died from her injuries at the scene.

First responders transported the male driver to a local ICU.

No charges or citations have been reported at this time, but an investigation into the cause of the crash remains in progress.
