BUFFALO, NY – Delays were reported following a multi-vehicle collision Thursday morning on Interstate 190 in northwest Buffalo, according to WGRZ TrafficTracker2.
The wreck unfolded on the northbound highway approaching Exit 14 to Vulcan Street, in the city’s Riverside neighborhood. It was first recorded by WGRZ at 8:05 a.m.
Officials did not clarify how many vehicles were impacted or what led up to the crash, but at the time of the initial report, all northbound lanes in the area were blocked off, forcing traffic to get by through the right shoulder.
The closure caused a traffic backup that stretched nearly down to State Highway 198 on the northbound side. On the southbound side, delays were felt back to Sheridan Drive and Kenmore Avenue.
From TrafficTracker 2’s Dave Cash: A multi-vehicle accident blocks all lanes on the 190 North before Vulcan Street. Traffic is slowly getting around the crash on the right shoulder & is backed up to before the 198. The 190 South crawls from Sheridan/Kenmore to the 198. @WGRZ pic.twitter.com/Qnu0eJw1v6
