BUFFALO, NY – A 21-year-old man has died following a hit-and-run pedestrian crash early Wednesday near downtown Buffalo, according to WGRZ.
The fatal incident was reported on a stretch of Niagara Street near Fargo Avenue, in the Front Park neighborhood, at about 1:00 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found that the victim was struck by a driver in a white Dodge Durango that was heading southbound on Niagara Street. The driver proceeded to crash their vehicle into a parked car before reportedly fleeing the scene on foot.
The male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
At the time of WGRZ’s report, the Durango was said to have been recovered. One person was questioned by investigators following the crash, but officials did not confirm whether that person was the driver.
No arrests or charges have been reported.
A report by WKBW 7 Buffalo said the young man was “possibly on a skateboard” at the time of the crash.
