Multi-vehicle wreck causes backup on inbound Hwy 5 near First Ward

BUFFALO, NY – Authorities were dispatched to a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday morning on State Highway 5 in Buffalo’s First Ward area, according to WGRZ TrafficTracker2.

The collision took place on the inbound lanes of the highway (Buffalo Skyway) approaching Outer Harbor Drive, near Lakeside Bike Park. It was first reported at 8:06 a.m.

Details remain limited, but three vehicles were involved, leaving the right shoulder of the inbound highway blocked.

At the time of the initial WGRZ report, the scene had created a traffic backup over two miles long, nearly reaching Tifft Street.


As of this writing, no information regarding the cause of the wreck or potential injuries has been released.
