CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, NY – Authorities were called to the scene of a wreck early Thursday evening on the New York State Thruway near Irving, according to WBEN TrafficCommand.

The accident happened on the eastbound lanes near Exit 58 toward U.S. Highway 10 to Silver Creek. It was first reported at 5:44 p.m.

While the circumstances of the wreck have not been specified, a section of the eastbound roadway was shut down to accommodate the arrival of a medical helicopter at the scene further north of the area.
