ALLEGANY COUNTY, NY – A 48-year-old man from Bolivar lost his life Tuesday afternoon due to a collision on State Route 275 in the Town of Wirt, according to WIVB.

New York State Police said the victim was driving a Ford Escape northbound when the car traveled into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming Hyundai at around 2:16 p.m.

While the occupants of the Hyundai were not seriously injured, the driver of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed troopers.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
