Male pedestrian dies after hit-and-run at Cheektowaga intersection

ERIE COUNTY, NY – A 21-year-old man lost his life as a result of a hit-and-run pedestrian crash Sunday evening in Cheektowaga, according to WKBW.

The incident unfolded on a stretch of Union Road at Walden Avenue, prompting a response from local police shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Officials have not specified what led up to the crash, but preliminary details indicate the young man, a Buffalo resident, was in the roadway when he was hit by a black sedan that continued northbound without stopping.

First responders rushed the male pedestrian to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) where he was later pronounced deceased.

While an investigation remains in progress, at the time of WKBW’s report, local police said they had located a vehicle matching the description of the hit-and-run car.
