Authorities respond to head-on collision on Sheridan Dr east of Amherst

ERIE COUNTY, NY – Two vehicles collided head-on early Wednesday afternoon near Park Country Club east of Amherst, prompting a closure, according to WGRZ.

Amherst Police responded to the scene, which blocked a stretch of Sheridan Drive from Troy Del Way to Village Green. The incident was first reported by WGRZ shortly before 12:00 p.m.

While very few details have been released, photos shared by a witness indicate two passengers vehicles were involved. The front end of both vehicles appear to have sustained significant damage.

First responders were observed attending to at least one of the drivers, but it’s unclear at this time whether anyone was seriously injured and/or had to be hospitalized.

Motorists were urged to avoid the scene as an investigation was underway. No charges have been confirmed as of this writing.
